Honda Civic Race/Rally car
This
former British touring car had to have some work done to it for rally events
First we addressed the sump plate problem, this needed to be strong enough to
take poundings from stones, roads and sometimes trees!!
So we fabricated some aluminium plate to fit under the cars vital organs and
fixed it in place.
Next was the rear boot space, we had to fabricate an enclosed water (fuel) tight
space to house all of the relevant tanks that could spill,
rupture or leak when upside down. This was carried out by making an aluminium
surround which was sealed to the cars sides and floor to prevent leaking.
We also had the handbrake to fit, this was mounted on the roll cage near the
navigators feet
(only place it would fit) so as the top of the handbrake was in close proximity
to the gear stick.
Next we fabricated four jacking points under the floor so a jack could be located
onto them quickly and easily.
We also fabricated a tool tube and a door card for holding notes
